Larry Matti & his wife Joan were part of a local group that had opened for Buddy & The Crickets when he had previously appeared there in July of 1958. When Buddy returned this time to The Riverside Ballroom, the group went to see the show & asked if they could watch from backstage. Buddy approved & throughout the evening they snapped these fantastic photos. (These were taken as slides, which results in these being of amazingly sharp quality)
In February of 1999, Jay Richardson (Bopper Jr.) made his first professional
performance at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA.
