The Fireballs
The original quintet of George Tomsco, Eric Budd, Stan Lark, & Chuck Tharp, formed in 1957 in Raton, NM named after their staple live number "Great Balls Of Fire". They met Buddy at Norman Petty Studios in 1958 and later became involved with overdubbing Buddy's Apartment Tapes in 1959.
Later that year, they not only provided Buddy with a few more hits, but their instrumental "Torquay" started off a 10 year string of
hits for them including "Bulldog", "Quite A Party",
"Long Long Ponytail", "Sugar Shack" (with Jimmy Gilmer),
"Daisy Petal Pickin'", "Long Green" and "Bottle Of Wine".
